Founder's Story
Hi! I’m Amit — pharmacist-turned comfort-creator from St. John’s, Newfoundland, the easternmost (and coziest) city in North America! 🇨🇦🛋️
After spending long shifts on my feet helping patients, or long hikes exploring icebergs 🧊 along our rugged coastline, or grueling snow shoveling sessions in the winter ❄️, all I ever want is to come home, crash on the couch, and stay there.
Not just to rest — but to eat, drink, unwind, and not move a muscle. 🍿☕📺
The only problem? There was never a decent place to put my food, drinks, or remote.
Trust me, after a few too many spills and snack disasters 😬, I went on the hunt.
I found a few clip-on couch trays online, and while the concept was brilliant, the execution? Not so much.
They were flimsy, made of bamboo that cracked too easily, and their edges weren’t high enough to stop things from sliding off. The clips barely held up to daily use.
That’s when I thought,
“Why not make the tray I’ve been dreaming of?” 🤔
So I did. 💡
I created Couch Potato — a sturdy, oval, potato-shaped sofa tray made of long-lasting Acacia wood, a non-slip base, and strong metal hinges that grip like a champ. 💪
It’s the tray I wish I had years ago.
For a couch potato like me, it’s been the best invention since sliced bread... 🍞
